Tomorrow, we celebrate our 243rd Independence Day. Most of us, especially the young ones are all excited for the 4th of July Sacramento holiday.

The 4th of July Sacramento celebration is a wonderful time to spend with your family and the neighborhoods commemorating the things that make our country special. People stay busy by hosting barbecue parties, picnics, or pool parties. And of course, you can never skip the local parades and fireworks.

As parents, we’re always looking for fun activities to get creative with the children as we celebrate the 4th of July Sacramento holiday. Because of that, you are probably wondering what fun things to do in Sacramento with kids and how to celebrate it like no other.

Camp out, binge eat and enjoy fireworks

Let’s be honest: food is always a good idea. So, imagine your day eating out with your family. You get to enjoy all the food tracks at Raley Field. Then, set up your camp in the outfield and head out to the kid’s area with splash pad and play structure. As you wait for the fireworks, there will be live music, courtesy of the band, The After Dark. And finally at night time, you get to see some fireworks.

You and your kids will surely have the time to relax and bond over some good local food and outdoor adventure. That sounds like a good way to start and end your day with a bang, right?

Be with the community and meet new people

Annual 4th of July Sacramento Festival of The River Park

If you’re new to the neighborhood, or simply need some catching up with your pals, then the Annual July 4th Festival of The River Park Neighborhood Association (RPNA) is a good idea for you.

Think about it, you can enjoy your own time and your kids will get to do fun outdoor activities as well. It’s a good way to introduce them to a community and likewise build their socializing skills. Even more, would you say no to this? Live music, food trucks, games, contest, craft vendors, and more. But don’t worry, they have activities for adults too!

Eat, drink, and deep in the pool

4th of July Sacramento at Cottage Park

Lucky for you, Cottage Park is offering a discount on this 4th of July! Cottage Park has discounted pool admission from 2 PM to 7 PM.

You can enjoy your day doing fun things and swimming in the pool. It will also be a community celebration of Independence Day, so there’s more than the discounts. There will be live music and FREE food and drinks. Yes, you read that right! They will be serving free food and drinks from Chick-fil-A Arden, BJ’s Restaurant Arden Fair & the Fulton Avenue Business Association.

Military Appreciation Day and Free Friend Day at Funderland

Amusement parks never get old. When you hear it, it always means fun. So, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to spend this holiday at Funderland.

And the good thing is, to celebrate this day of independence and express gratitude, Funderland is offering free admission for the service members and their family. Well, if you’re not from the military, no problem. They’re also offering “Bring a Friend for Free” promo. So, if you are a current season pass holder, you can bring one friend and your fellow gets a free pass!

Run for a cause with your kids

Do you want an activity that could be fun and educate your kids? Then, join the Roseville Crime Stoppers for the Run Crime Out of Roseville. Adults have the option to run for 5k or 10k, while kids can have ¼ mile fun run right at the Roseville’s Vernon Street Town Square. In addition, you can create your own team but make sure to stay after for the Independence Day Parade.

The funds for this event will be used to purchase specialized equipment for the local law enforcement, and at the same time, provide scholarships for youth and educate participants on crimes affecting the community. It will be for a good cause. So, you can help out the community while you get to bond with your kids as well.

Watch a live game and cheer your hearts out

What better way to have fun than watching a live game? Well, we’ve got you covered. If you want to celebrate Independence Day at the ballpark, there will be a match between Potters and Sierra Nevada Wolves!

All the players will have their themed 4th of July uniforms and subsequently, it will be auctioned to raise funds for the benefit of PCAR Foundation. Do you want more fun? Well, there will be a firework show in Placer Country.

Have some family fun at the community pool

Let’s simplify things! Have fun with your family and El Dorado Hills Community Services District will take care of the rest. It will be a day of good ol’ fun and games for kids and the whole family. Simply bring your picnic lunch and dine beside the pool. Relax, enjoy and have fun.
