Global Winter Wonderland – Sacramento

Global Winter Wonderland is one of our family’s favorite annual activities in Sacramento. Get ready, because it’s that time of year again! Global Winter Wonderland has a spectacular lantern display and array of entertainment for your whole family. It is coming to Cal Expo November 11 through January 7. I know my family is looking forward to it and I strongly urge you to make plans to go.

Things To Do

Most noteworthy, if you haven’t been to Global Winter Wonderland before, there is an awesome lantern display which will impress anybody who likes lights.  They have rides such as the Christmas Holiday Train, The Century Wheel, and The Carousel for the kids. Ice skating under the stars is also plenty of fun.  There is also great holiday gift shopping, foods from around the world, and some special Christmas snacks such as roasted nuts, sticky buns, hot chocolate and hot apple cider.

I personally like walking around with a cup of hot chocolate and just taking in the lights. I also like getting a jump on my holiday gift shopping. My daughter Roxy loves the rides and begs me to let her go on the Christmas Holiday Train and down the Super Slide.

Tips For Global Winter Wonderland

For those of you in Sacramento, if you’re considering going, I’d like to offer some tips.

• Bring cash. Not all of the vendors take credit card.
• Go early! I can’t emphasize this enough.
• Buy your tickets online before you get there.
• Print your tickets at home and bypass the long lines.
• Bring strollers for your kids.
• Bundle up with a jacket, a hat, and gloves for each member of your family because it gets really chilly, especially into December and January.
