Pumpkin Festival at Gibson Ranch Park

This popular family event is held at Gibson Ranch Park in Elverta every weekend starting September 29 through October 28. The festival brings affordable fun to the community, with a variety of options for shopping, fun and entertainment. Celebrate Autumn at the Rio Linda Grange’s Pumpkin Festival! The festival will be held on Saturday, October 13 from 11:30 am to 4 pm at 1315 G St, Rio Linda. Try your luck with the Pumpkin Sling, enjoy food and beverages and keep the kiddos entertained with activities and music. Pumpkin pies will be available for sale at the festival as well. Celebrate the spirit of the pacific islands at this annual cultural event. Held between 9 am and 6 pm on Saturday, October 6 at CalExpo, attendees can sample traditional foods, participate in workshops or explore generational links to the islands. The event is family-friendly and features merchandise and food vendors, native Hawaiian and Pacific Island entertainment as well as storytelling and crafts for kids. Giant Pumpkin Festival

This fun, kid-friendly festival is held from 10 am to 5 pm Saturday & Sunday, October 6-7 in Elk Grove Regional Park. Admission is free, parking is $10. The Giant Pumpkin Festival offers something for everyone and features a pumpkin food court, a pumpkin regatta, a kids’ zone, arts and crafts, contests, demonstrations, musical performances, a pumpkin patch, an agricultural area and more. Acorn Day

Enjoy the autumn season at Acorn Day, being held from 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday, October 13 at the State Indian Museum. The event is held in celebration of the acorn, a traditional dietary staple of California native peoples. Guests to the museum will enjoy hands-on learning about the traditions of preparing acorns for food. Pool of Pumpkins Festival

This one-of-a-kind annual event will be held from 1 to 4 pm on Saturday, October 20 at the Wackford Aquatic Complex in Elk Grove. Adventure Bay is transformed into a floating pumpkin patch, where attendees can jump in and pick a pumpkin, then decorate it at one of several decorating stations. Hosted by the El Dorado Hills Public Library, this annual family event takes place on October 20 from 1 to 4 pm. The event features a costume contest, Nature’s Critters reptile petting zoo, and games & activities for all ages. Meet a real owl at the Sierra Wildlife Rescue booth! The first-ever Fall Festival will be held at Arden Park on Saturday, October 20, from 11 am to 4 pm. This family-friendly event will feature live music from Arden Park Roots, food trucks, giant inflatables for the kids and an exciting 100-foot-long zip line! Rocklin Fall Festival

The Rocklin Fall Festival takes place from 11 am to 4 pm on Saturday, October 20 at Johnson Springview Park in Rocklin. Halloween Haunt at Safetyville

Safetyville’s annual Halloween Haunt will take place on Saturday, October 27 from 11 am to 4 pm.  The event offers a unique setting and safe alternative to Trick-or-Treating for families with young children.
